We are three days into 2011 and with the New Year bring new goals and business practices. Why not get involved with a program to challenge your business to make a difference and become a leader in environmental practices?
10 for Change is a partnership sponsored by the City of Boulder’s Climate Action Plan
that supports area businesses to reduce energy consumption over a one-year time period. It is a fact that energy-efficient commercial buildings help save landlords and tenants money as well as reduce local carbon-intensive energy. The basis of the program revolves around outreach, energy, waste, transportation and water use.
With more than 100 Boulder-area businesses represented that are committed to reducing their energy use by 10 percent, 10 for Change is a free, voluntary program that also rewards its members for their participation. Additionally, the Sustainability Actions Scorecard offers local businesses 50 sustainable actions to choose from for a “2011 Challenge” in which 10 for Chamber members compete with each other to achieve points for their sustainability efforts.
