<p></strong><strong>Boulder, Colo – April 6, 2011</strong> – The <a href="http://www.loveboulder.org/" target="_blank" class="broken_link">I Love Boulder community-powered campaign</a> just got more social with two new digital applications from local shops Rage Digital and Aftermath Interactive. The applications, an iPhone app and Facebook app respectively, are making it even easier to share photos, tweets and other digital content that highlight the things Boulder residents love about their city.</p>

The mobile photo sharing application makes it easy to customize and share photos of the things you love about Boulder on <a href="http://www.facebook.com/ILoveBoulder" target="_blank">Facebook</a>, <a href="http://bit.ly/LoveBoulder-TW" target="_blank">Twitter </a>and <a href="http://bit.ly/LoveBoulder-FLK" target="_blank">Flickr</a>. It’s an easy and fun way to capture the crazy things and beautiful surroundings Boulderites see every day, and we’re excited to be helping iPhone users get involved.”</p>

The apps can interface with any Facebook page and shares information about the founding and community partners that made the campaign possible as well as direct interaction with the iPhone app.</p>
<p>&#8220;We created these apps to provide a way for I Love Boulder fans to interact with the project, while also giving everybody the ability to add these apps to their own Facebook pages,&#8221; said Creative Director at Aftermath Interactive Sean Allen.  &#8220;Participating in a community project like I Love Boulder is what makes living and working in the Boulder area so rewarding &#8211; the ability collaborate with community-minded people that really do care.&#8221;  The applications will enhance the communities’ ability to share content seamlessly.</p>

<p><a href="http://buyintoboulder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/fashionunderflatirons-logonl2011.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-1182" title="fashionunderflatirons-logonl2011" src="http://buyintoboulder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/fashionunderflatirons-logonl2011-300x224.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="224" /></a>On March 10th, at <a href="http://www.bouldertheater.com/">The Boulder Theater</a>, <a href="http://www.boulderdowntown.com/">DBI</a> will be bringing the flashing lights and red carpets to Boulder, but we&#8217;re leaving out the itsy bitsy models, and replacing them with everyday, active people, rockin&#8217; style looks from <a href="http://www.boulderdowntown.com/events/fashion-under-the-flatirons/Merchants">nineteen different retail shops</a> in the Downtown area. This means that ALL of the clothing being modeled in the show is acceptable to wear in public, and any pointing or staring you might get while walking the streets of Boulder, either means that your fly is down, or you have a large string of toilet paper hanging from your shoe. If the excitement of being at a fashion show, and previewing new looks isn&#8217;t enough for you, I&#8217;ve put together 5 more reasons to entice you to buy your tickets today, and mark next Thursday night as busy on your calendars!</p>
<p><strong>Thursday|March 10| 7:30 P.M.</strong></p>
<p>1.) Food. Along with the array of <a href="http://www.boulderdowntown.com/">Downtown Boulder</a> retail shops participating in the event, six of Boulder&#8217;s hottest restaurants will also be providing food for the event. So, purchasing any one of the three ticket options offered not only gets you into the fashion event of the season (in Boulder), but also gets you dinner for the night, made up of selections from <a href="http://www.ajirestaurant.com/">Aji</a>, <a href="http://www.boulderjapango.com/">Japango</a>, <a href="http://www.jillsdining.com/">Jill&#8217;s</a>, <a href="http://www.pizzerialocale.com/">Pizzeria Locale</a>, <a href="http://www.dishgourmet.com/">Dish</a> and <a href="http://www.leafvegetarianrestaurant.com/">Leaf</a>.</p>
<p>2.) Reason number two, is perhaps the most important reason to attend the event. As if a night of gourmet food and mountain glamor isn&#8217;t enough, All Fashion Under the Flatirons attendees will receive a 20% off savings card to be used at ALL of the retail businesses and restaurants featured in the event. (Offer valid March 11-13). That&#8217;s 20% savings at twenty-seven different businesses in Downtown Boulder.</p>
<p>3.) Unlike most fashion shows, this one features looks for just about everyone. <p>4.) It&#8217;s an event that&#8217;s friendly on your wallet. The $50.00 price gets your reserved seating, food, one drink ticket, and a coveted VIP bag. The “community-owned” campaign is designed to be viral and invites business and individuals to integrate the I Love Boulder campaign into their existing marketing efforts to leverage the power of the community to tell their own story. The campaign is designed to personalize the theme, logo and branding to share individual tributes to Boulder.</p>
<p>“There are so many things to love about being in Boulder,” said City Manager Jane Brautigam. “Boulder tops the nation’s top 10 lists every year for quality of life, innovations and hot jobs.  The goal of this campaign is to capture all of those great stories from our community and showcase our unique city to the world as a terrific place to live, visit, recreate and do business.”</p>
<p>Boulder-based <a href="http://www.cypher13.com/">Cypher 13</a> developed a logo and brand that embodies the spirit and objectives of the campaign. Web design firm Quick Left offered its expertise to create <a href="http://www.loveboulder.org/" class="broken_link">www.loveboulder.org</a> as a one-stop-shop to download campaign logos, ideas, and toolkits that enable everyone from the individual to major corporations to get involved. The website will function as a centralized location to share ideas and see what others love about Boulder. <a href="http://www.loveboulder.org/" class="broken_link">www.loveboulder.org</a> will leverage technology to pull tweets, videos and photos tagged with the campaign into the website for others to view.</p>
<p>A number of organizations have already agreed to incorporate the theme into their annual marketing plans. Others are using the I love Boulder concept to challenge members and students to tell their stories and learn more about the community. Boulder Public Library has capitalized on its film series to promote films with strong Boulder connections; <a href="http://www.facebook.com/boulder.colorado">Boulder Facebook Page</a> is asking its 30,000 fans to submit photos and favorite places to highlight lesser known Boulder attractions and events; and the Boulder Valley School District is challenging students to produce short films about their Boulder experiences and create art about their favorite Boulder places.</p>
<p>The identity system  is intended to be given away to the community with the hope that it will be repurposed, reinvented, and used in new and original ways. Ultimately, this campaign is for the community.</p>

For its second year, the Digital Media Symposium will highlight visionary leaders in the film, media and gaming industries who will discuss future applications of digital technology. DiMe was originally designed to further develop the emerging local digital media industry and is presented this year by Colorado&#8217;s Creative Industries Division, the Boulder Convention &amp; Visitors Bureau, and BIFF.</p>

At the event, they will discuss the issues and successes of 2010 and look ahead at the challenges and city priorities for 2011.</p>
<p>The event begins at 8:00 to 9:00am and is free and open to the public at the Boulder Public library. There will be a continental breakfast starting at 7:30am; a suggested donation of $20 to support our Buy into Boulder program. <h3>Supporting the local brewer has proved to be successful for Boulder breweries. The typical <em><a href="http://www.brewersassociation.org/pages/business-tools/craft-brewing-statistics/craft-brewer-defined">craft brewer</a></em> is a small, independent, and traditional brewer with an annual production of approximately <a href="http://www.brewersassociation.org/pages/business-tools/craft-brewing-statistics/craft-brewer-defined">6 million barrels of beer or less</a> who uses traditional, natural ingredients (malted barley) using pure malt ales batch-brewed and hand-crafted for unique tastes. They also tend to be very involved in their communities’ local causes.</h3>
<h3>Award-winning microbrewery with constant rotating tap wells such as Mountain Sun Pub offer a full-spectrum of ales &#8211; from stouts to IPAs and touts having the “hoppiest” beers in town.</h3>
<h3>“Mountain Sun Pub has the local scene and we are small but mighty. We pump out a huge amount of amazing beers. The demand is high with our brewers experimenting more often with the Belgium types,” says Annabelle Forrestal, kitchen manager, Mountain Sun Pub on Pearl Street. Stout Month is coming up in February, and 90 percent of the tap wells will turn into stout at the pub, she says.</h3>

<p><a href="http://www.10forchange.net/"><em>10 for Change</em></a> is a partnership sponsored by the <a href="http://www.bouldercolorado.gov/">City of Boulder’s</a> Climate Action Plan<img class="alignleft" src="http://buyintoboulder.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/261-10-for-Change.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="144" /> that supports area businesses to reduce energy consumption over a one-year time period. It is a fact that energy-efficient commercial buildings help save landlords and tenants money as well as reduce local carbon-intensive energy. The basis of the program revolves around outreach, energy, waste, transportation and water use.</p>
<p>With more than 100 Boulder-area businesses represented that are committed to reducing their energy use by 10 percent, <em>10 for Chang</em>e is a free, voluntary program that also rewards its members for their participation. Additionally, the Sustainability Actions Scorecard offers local businesses 50 sustainable actions to choose from for a “2011 Challenge” in which 10 for Chamber members compete with each other to achieve points for their sustainability efforts.</p>
