The University Hill, or “The Hill” as it is known by CU-Boulder students and locals is a unique collection of small retail shops, dining options, and professional services.   Keeping your dollars local and purchasing on The Hill is a great way to support community events such as The Hill Flea, snowboarding’s Rail Jam, the UniHill 2K race, and fund raisers benefiting various CU student groups. The Fox Theatre, a Boulder keystone, has been in this district decades; and businesses like Hapa Sushi, The Sink and Glacier Ice Cream have made this area unique. The vast majority of these businesses are locally owned and operated and some by University of Colorado alumni.

Merchants within the University Hill Commercial District understand that going green is good for our environment and provides a competitive advantage in attracting and maintaining business customers.

Efforts for Greening the Hill include:

  • Five Hill restaurants are already reaping the rewards of composting all food waste, service containers and utensils.
  • Nine Hill businesses have joined the Greening the Hill Partnership.
